रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारतीय उपभोक्ताओं का कीमती डाटा चाइनीज डिजिटल एप्लीकेशंस द्वारा कई विदेशी एजेंसियों को ट्रांसफर किया जा रहा है. न्यूज वेबसाइट इकोनोमिक टाइम्स की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पुणे की एक इंफोर्मेशन सिक्योरिटी फर्म Arrka Consulting ने अपनी एक स्टडी में यह पता लगाया है कि चीन की डिजिटल एप्लीकेशंस भारतीय उपभोक्ताओं से जरूरत से ज्यादा उनकी निजी जानकारियां मांग रहा है.
इन चाइनीज एप्लीकेशंस द्वारा भारतीय उपभोक्ताओं की वो जानकारियां भी मांगी जा रही हैं, जिनकी एप्लीकेशंस को कोई जरुरत नहीं होती.
Arrka Consulting के को-फाउंडर संदीप राव के अनुसार, चीन की करीब 10 और दुनिया भर की करीब टॉप 50 डिजिटल एप्लीकेशंस उपभोक्ताओं से 45% ज्यादा जानकारी मांग रही हैं. औसत तौर पर चाइनीज एप्लीकेशंस ये डाटा 7 विदेशी एजेंसियों को ट्रांसफर कर रही हैं. इसमें 69% डाटा अमेरिका भेजा जा रहा है.
स्टडी के अनुसार, इन एप्लीकेशंस में Helo, Shareit, TikTok, UC Browser, Vigo Video, Beauty Plus, Club factory Everything, News-Dog, UC news और VMate हैं. ये सारे एप्स भारतीय उपभोक्ताओं से उनके कैमरे और माइक्रोफोन्स तक का एक्सेस मांगती हैं. यह किसी भी उपभोक्ता की डाटा सुरक्षा के नजरिए काफी संवेदनशील मामला है.
वहीं टिक-टॉक अपना डाटा चाइना टेलीकॉम को भेज रही है.
